A semi-Lagrangian Discontinuous Galerkin method for efficient atmospheric chemistry modelling.
Abstract
A discretization approach
for the scalar advection equation is introduced,
which combines the accuracy and flexibility
of the Discontinuous Galerkin method with the
computational efficiency and robustness
of Semi-Lagrangian techniques.
The method is described in the perspective of
Evolution Galerkin methods.
Its accuracy and stability are demonstrated by a number of
numerical tests.
