A Parallel semi-Lagrangian Approximation of the Effective Hamiltonian

We study an approximation scheme for the effective Hamiltonian, the scheme is based on a semi-Lagrangian approximation of the so called cell problem. Such problem arise f.e. from homogenization. The scheme computes the value of the effective Hamiltonian and, at the same time, a maximal viscosity solution of the cell problem. Since the numerical computation is heavy, we propose a parallel algorithm based on a domain decomposition of the cell problem. Two dimensional experiments will be shown.
