Abstract


The paper is about a training workshop for teachers held during the SSISS (Post-graduate School for teachers in the schools), about the development of intercultural competence of the pupils.
The workshop, using a special questionnaire just realized for this purpose, suggested a debate among the teachers, about the concept of intercultural competence and about how to teach it in the Italian schools. As a result, the teachers seem to be quite uncertain about the terms and the contents of the competence, even if they show very good and genuine intentions.
