Abstract
We consider a plane monochromatic harmonic wave, linearly polarized in the $x=O$ plane, propagating along the x axis, which is normally incident on a slab consisting of a non linear media whose constitutive relation is:
$\delta_t$ D= \Phi (D, E, t) $\delta_t$ E+\Psi (D, E, t).
Our object is to prove a theorem of existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence on boundary and initial values, concerning solutions of the field quasi-linear equations, under the assumption that the system is hyperbolic and provided we restrict ourselves to a sufficiently small region adjacent to the origin. The adopted scheme is purely iterative, following a general theorem developped by R. Courant [1].
