Abstract
In this paper the general ideas of the modified ray method for nonlinear waves are presented and briefly analysed. The inverse problems in acoustoelasticity are discussed on the basis of solving the evolution equations. These problems are of a great importance in connection with the determining of the physical and geometrical parameters of media. The basic definitions of the asymptotic inverse problems and severa1 solutions are presented.
