Abstract
The Author examines the structure and chemical nature of ultimobranchial body of blind Teleost $Anoptichthys$ $jordani$ Hubbs e Innes. The observations on the ultimobranchial body remark this gland consists of vescicles which lie immediately beneath the circular musculature of the oesophagus. The vescicles show a pluristratifled epithelial cells with elongated nuclei. The lumina of these glands show a colloid substance. Suchs results accord, in some aspects, with those of Vu Tan Tue (1970 on the ultimobranchial vescicles of $Chimaera$ $monstrosa$ L.
