Abstract
Equilibrium data for the reactions:
$[Pt(dien)X]^+ + Y^- $\leftrightarrows$ [Pt(dien)Y]^+ + X^-$
(dien = diethylenetriamine; $X^- = Br^-, I^-, N_3^-; Y^+ = Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, N_3^-, NO_2^-, SCN^--$) in water at 25°C and $\mu$ = 0,5M in $NaClO_4$ are reported. The order of the values of $K_e_q_.$ for different groups $Y^-$ is independent of $X^-$, reflecting a property of the central metal which is assumed to be the $Pt^"$-basicity.
