Abstract
The kinetic behavior of complexes of type $trans-[Pt(P(C_2H_5)_3)_2$ $R$ $SnCl_3]$ (R = phenyl, o-tolyl, mesityl) with various entering groups in sym-dicloroethane at 30 °C. has been studied. The kinetic runs were carried out with a <<stopped-flow>> apparatus. The unusual bigh reactivity, is discussed in terms of a possible tin-solvent interaction. The values of the second-order rate constants ($k_2$ $M^-^1$ $sec.^-^1$) are in agreement with the increase of steric hindrance on the central metal atom.
