Abstract
A kinetic study of the reaction between $PdCl_4^2^-$ and isoprene is reported. The results are interpreted considering the formation, as intermediates, of a $\pi$complex of palladium. (TI) with isoprene, having only one double bond coordinated to the metal, and of a diene chelated compound. By nucleophilic attak of external methanol on the intermediate compounds, the metossi $\pi$allyl complex is obtained.
