Abstract
In the crystal of bis(nicotinato-N,O)lead(II) the coordination around lead, which lies on a two-fold axis, is distorted cubic and involves four oxygen atoma from carboxylic groups behaving as bidentate ligands, two oxygen atoms from two carboxylic groups which are bridging two adjacent metal atoms forming in this way chains which run parallel and two nitrogen atoms of other pyridine-rings. The nicotinate ions act as bridges between adJacent chains in a polymeric three-dimensional network.
