Abstract
N.M.R. measurements are currently being made at temperatures very close to $T_c$ on thin multilayered aluminum films. The motivation for this work is to determine whether the conduction electron susceptibility is sensitive to the critical fluctuactions. An unexpected line splitting has been observed on one of our samples at a temperature 30 millidegrees below $T_c$. The most likely cause for the splitting is the nuclear quadrupole interaction, but the origin of the non cubic-electric field requirered for such a quodrupole splitting is not known.
