Abstract
By means of small sngle X-ray diffraction the microstructure of two sintered highly porous samples of $\alpha \ A1_2O_3$ was studied. The values of the specific surface, of the average particle and pore size were obtained employing different methods (Porod, Debye-Bueche and Hosemann-Joerchel) wlth a good agreement. The values of the microstructural parameters obtained by X-rays were compared with the respective values derived by means of different techniques like electron microscopy, BET method and porosimetry.
