Abstract
The magnetic properties of a seriès of $\gamma-Fe_20_3$ ferric oxides obtained from $ \alpha FeOOH$ sample having acicular particles, suitably modified with silica, were correlated with microstrutural ones. The reduction of the ferric oxide to magnetite was carried out at temperatures between 35O°C and 600°C, while the oxidation to $\gamma-Fe_2O_3$ was made at 300° for all the samples. The structural properties were studied by means of transmission electron microscopy and X-ray small angle diffusion.
