Abstract
The AA., after rapidly referrlng to well-known functions exercised by the upper airways (filtration, heating and conditioning of the inspirated air), and by the lower airways, examined the physiopathologic relations between the nasal and bronchopulmonary respiration, which prove the existence of some nasal-pulmonary and nasalbronchial reflexes.
The AA. concluded affirming: 1) the existence of some nasal-bronchial syndromes; 2) the vulnerable position of the bronchial system, at the same time exposed to two potential insult-circuits: the one descerding, the other ascending.
