Abstract
The magneto-elastic shock waves propagations is studied and the eventual occurens of characteristic shock is investigated. Three propagation modes are founded which correspond to three different values of the propagation velocity and it is noticed that only one of the three shock waves is, in genera, characteristic. Finally, having stated some realtions among propagation velocities,the different behaviour of H2 across the three shock surfaces, associated with the transverse, slow and fast waves, is pointed out
