Abstract

We consider the point explosion problem in a viscous, thermally conducting fluid and carry on an asymptotic analysis to take into account dissipative effects. The asymptotic waves propagating in a non constant state, characterized by a similarity solution are ruled by a generalized Burges equation with variables coefficents. This equation belong in the class of non-linear evolution equations considered in and the qualitative behaviour of the solution is pointed out.
