Abstract
Stochastic disturbances affecting deterministic partial differential equations both as inhomogeneous terms and as side conditions are investigated. In particular, a random process with piecewise constant sample functions is introduced for modeling such effects. As an application, stochastic features of wave propagation excited by a random source are examined. Further, the influence of stochastic side conditions is illustrated by analyzing the behavior of a current induced in a shorted transmission line by a random voltage. A discussion on possible developments of the theory is also presented.
