Skin infections caused by Dermatophytes are extremely common and are the second most frequent skin diseases in Europe.
Tinea barbae caused by dermatophytes represents a case of inflammatory tinea of the face that manifest with erythematous swelling and development of pustoles to open and discharge pus.
The Authors describe an interesting case that shows how this type of mycosis can manifest in a clinical picture with severe inflammation which can also mimic Tinea piogenica.
