Abstract
In the treatment of complex ear malformations, the marginal approach along the elix represents a reliable method that allows a complete exposure of the ear cartilage, in full respect of the anatomy of this region.
In this group of malformations, in which is possible to beate the Lop Ear deformity, there is always a varying grade of cartilage defect.
A clinical case is reported to point out why, for a correct pre operative planning, the reconstructive surgeon must take advantage of precise morphometric evaluations; this because only raising cartilage flaps of the adequate size, it will be possible to achieve a balanced new cartilage framework that will restore the correct ear shape and proportion.
