Abstract
Insoluble hexacyanoferrates present a large variety of compositions and structures. All the studied products show a high affinity for caesium and silver. However, the ion fixation kinetics and the capacity depend on the composition and the structure of the initial products and on the fixation mechanisms. In order to prepare products suitable for column utilization, a new preparation mode is proposed, whose principle is a slow growth of an insoluble hexacyanoferrate on an alkaline hcxacyanoferrate crystal placed in a concentrated solution of another reactant.
