Abstract
This is the second part of a review paper devoted to emphasizing the role played by asymptotic modelling in the solution of many problems in Fluid Mechanics. The first part Guiraud & Zeytounian (1986) endeavours to define the meaning we give to asymptotic modelling and to show that it occurs in a great number of problems. In this second part we select some examples and we devote more space to explaining and assessing, in words rather than with equations, the specific support that asymptotic modelling has brought into or towards the process of getting the solution.
