Abstract

Polyphenols are considered health related compounds with several beneficial effects on the human host. Due to their antimicrobial and antiviral activity activity, polyphenols are gaining much interest from the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. A novel approach is based on the use of polyphenols from natural sources for their antimicrobial and antiviral properties. In the present work, we have tested the antibacterial and antiviral effect of a mix of polyphenols present in natural almond (Prunus dulcis L.) skin (NS MIX).
