Coltivare la capacità di rappresentare il futuro. Un’indagine su nuove pratiche di confronto pubblico

Abstract

This analysis shows the representations of the future collected in 39 discussion groups based on the Future Lab method (Jungk, 1987) and organized in Emilia Romagna (Northern Italy). This form of political debate provides a material of great interest to the sociological study, because it allows us to explore the constituent elements of a new imaginary focused on the socio-economic and political crisis. In this sense, this paper explore the cultural constructs and the images that characterize today the «capacity to aspire» (Appadurai, 2004) and try to assess if it is possible to increase this capacity by new forms of political debate.
