Refining Characterization of Powder for Rotomolding Industries: A Study Case
Abstract
A number of manufacturing processes use powder as raw material. One of these is
the manufacturing process of plastics products, with molding technology. Powder quality
level is established by comparing some characteristics with assigned specification limits.
In this work, the models of probability density for weight and number of particles have
been defined, with methods of mathematical statistics. The results look promising for
better defining raw material performance and for process improvement; further, it has been
understood how to modify the current test methods, to replicate these information,
during the production runs.
