Thermodynamics of Superfluid Vortex Tangles
Abstract
We consider the main energetic and geometric aspects contributing to the entropy of the vortex tangles appearing in superfluid turbulence, and we propose a simplified model to evaluate them. We consider the tangle and the underlying superfluid system as two different systems, each one in internal quasi-equilibrium, but
exchanging heat with each other. The resulting thermodynamic formalism is studied in two different significative situations.
