Flight Simulation Environment of the University of Naples and Recent Developments in Control Loading Reproduction
Abstract
This paper presents the work done to set-up and test a 6DOF flight simulation facility recently acquired by the University of Naples. The flight simulator cockpit reproduces a generic cabin of a small aircraft. The chosen software module that guides the various components of the system is based on FlightGear flight simulator.
The simulation is also supported by a force reproduction system on the cockpit controls. The effect of the mechanical linkage dynamics, mechanical friction and of the presence of springs are also taken into account.
Comparison between flight acquired data and simulated aircraft data will be performed and analysed.
