Abstract

The correct interpretation of the geophysical signals occurring before and during volcanic events is an important item from both monitoring and scientific standpoints. Inverse methods are required to combine forward models with appropriate optimization algorithms and automatically find the best set of parameters that well matches the available observations. Indeed, investigations on the mathematical equations to be inverted, have revealed that these models are highly non-linear and ill-posed. Numerical methods for modeling geophysical observations are proposed and applied on real dataset.
