Abstract

Francesco Mercadante’s proposal for an electoral enhancement of children’s rights invites us to consider – even before a formal democracy based on the idea of “people” – the world of life proper to the civil community, which must be carefully explored in all its fundamental profiles. More than “people”, “civil community”, or “formalized world”, we would say: community world of life. The very word “public” must be entirely revisited in the name of active citizenship.
