SOCIETÀ DEL NARCISISMO E PERDITA DI SOLIDARIETÀ: CONSIDERAZIONI PEDAGOGICHE
Abstract
L’articolo pone l’attenzione sul rapporto tra il deficit di solidarietà sociale, fra i fattori alla base del rigetto della diversità, che tanta importanza riveste nel mancato incontro tra culture e nel rifiuto di accogliere gli stranieri provenienti da contesti migratori, in specie più poveri, e il dilagare del fenomeno del narcisismo patologico nella nostra società occidentale e globalizzata. A partire da queste premesse vengono individuati e descritti alcuni caratteri salienti di questo tipo di cultura e di società narcisistico, contraddistinto, tra l’altro, dalla svalutazione del senso della storia, dall’ipertrofia dell’Io e delle mode, dall’edonismo, e dalla diffusione del bullismo nei rapporti interpersonali, alle radici di nuovi fenomeni di esclusione sociale. L’articolo si conclude con un richiamo pedagogico a favore dei movimenti di liberazione, in seno alla lotta alle disuguaglianze sociali, per affermare una posizione critica di fronteggiamento dei dettami della cultura e della società del narcisismo patologico.
The article focuses on the relationship between the deficit of social solidarity, one of the factors underlying the rejection of diversity, which is so important in the lack of encounter between
cultures and in the refusal to welcome foreigners from migratory backgrounds, especially the poor, and the spread of the phenomenon of pathological narcissism in our Western and globalized society. Starting from these premises, some salient characteristics of this type of narcissistic culture and society are identified and described, characterized, among other things, by the
devaluation of the sense of history, by the hypertrophy of the Ego and fashions, by hedonism, and from the spread of bullying in interpersonal relationships, to the roots of new phenomena of social exclusion. The article ends with a pedagogical appeal in favor of liberation movements, within the fight against social inequalities, to affirm a critical position in the face of the dictates of
culture and society of pathological narcissism
